My house on Monticelli Tower Lake is in the heart of the city, a short drive from downtown Orlando and Tampa Bay. For good family fun Lake Eva Park is just minutes away from my new home and offers a variety of activities for children and adults as well as a playground for the children. There are hiking trails and covered areas where you can relax while your children play. Sports enthusiasts can swim at Haines City Aquatic Center, play a round at Southern Dunes Golf Club or simply stroll through the picturesque downtown area known for its quaint cafes, shops and restaurants.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has 6,283 housing units, the second highest number in the state of Florida and the third highest in Florida. There is no land, but there is water and it is part of the city of Haines City, which in turn is considered part of the Tampa Bay Area, according to the U.S. Census.

North of the city on US 27 is a small town with about 1,000 inhabitants and a little over 2,500 inhabitants.
